Perfect Albums - Intro

I listen to a lot of music.  I have since I was about 10.  At first I used to listen to what my parents listened to.  This was about 1964.  I actually used to listen to Pat Boone records my parents had.

Then.... the Beatles had a hit with "I want to hold your hand".  My life hasn't been the same since.

At one point I had somewhere near 1000 LP records.  I had very eclectic tastes, but to be honest my favorite has always been Rock.  I lived in Richmond Va for quite a number of years; from 1965 to 1984.  There were two exceptional radio stations.  Back in those days they were called "underground".  XL102 was one that was around for a long long time.  They played all kinds of music.  Music I would have never heard otherwise.  As diverse as some types of Jazz to some types of Country.  Performers such as Gil Scott and Brian Jackson and Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks.

Since those early days I've listened to many albums hundreds, maybe thousands of times.

What I want to do with this thread is to make others aware of albums that I think are perfect.  That is, they are really good and have no "filler"... That is: all of the songs are good , representative of the rest of the album's sound.   I want to only choose albums that are original releases from the band itself, nothing released by the record company in a compilation.

Also, only music I'm familiar with.  I have very little knowledge of Jazz, which is as sophisticated and complex as really good Classical music, such as Mozart, Beethoven and Bach.
